ATTENTION SENIORS OF 2020: Now is the time to nominate any teacher for a BELL AWARD! This award goes to the teacher that has touched your life the most over the years. The teacher can be from any grade level in Needville ISD. Please tell us who this teacher is and describe how this teacher has influenced you. This is a very informal essay. Simply compose a one page essay (at most) in Word and e-mail it to your counselors at pohlera@needvilleisd.com or orsakv@needvilleisd.com . A committee will then choose 10 students to present their bell to the teacher. This is due by Friday, May 1st!

In response to some questions regarding students turning in their completed packets, we are working on a plan to have them submitted in a way that reduces the possible spread of germs. The best option is for students to take pictures of their work using their phone, and submit it in Google Classroom to their teachers. Our top priority is the safety of our Blue Jay community.

As you know, unfortunately Governor Abbot has closed all Texas schools until May 4th. We hope everyone is taking care of themselves and their families during this unprecedented time. We still want our students to learn and grow - so the best way for students to access work as well as request help from teachers is through Google Classroom. If that means is not an option, you must complete the following form by Wednesday, April 8th to request work for the upcoming weeks: https://forms.gle/uXE3xTKMUKskXCnH9 Stay safe and go Blue Jays!

Needville ISD grading system procedures are being reviewed due to Covid-19. We are monitoring student progress and completion of assigned curriculum. Our goal is for every student to show proficiency to ensure they are prepared academically for the next grade level or graduation. At this time students need to continue to complete assignments through home-based instruction whether it be google classroom or paper packets.

I know that many of you have concerns about grades, credits, graduation, etc. It would be premature to state any details about what we will do since we are still meeting to decide. Please be patient with us as we work through this unprecedented event and rest assured we will work extremely hard to make sure each and every student will be afforded the opportunity to be successful. I will communicate with all as soon as we make firm decisions on these issues. Sincerely, Steve Adamson

Dear Needville school-community, Needville ISD will extend the closure of all campuses with an indefinite return date for the 2019-20 school year. Governor Abbott has announced today that school buildings shall be closed through May 4, 2020. Based on that Executive Order, we wish to embrace the challenge of continuing the home-based instructional process for a successful completion of the 2019-20 school year, whether we return to "normal school" in May or not. If it is determined that we will resume normal operations, it will be announced one week prior. Continue the parent/teacher/campus communication and we will work through this COVID-19 pandemic TOGETHER. This truly is a first for all of us! Please be safe. Wash hands regularly, disinfect living/working areas, adhere to the social distancing/small grouping requirements and isolate yourself if you are feeling any symptoms. It is up to all of us to stop this virus from spreading! God Bless to All, Curtis Rhodes

If you come to the HS to pick up packets, please follow the directions of the administrator and stay at least 6 ft apart from each other. There are markers outside the front door to assist. Only 1 person should come to the office.
