One of our NMS Blue Jays, Paislee Dyer in 4th grade, took home the title of 1st runner up for Duchess Saturday at the Ft. Bend County Pageant. Congratulations to her! Small town big pride!

Ms. Smith’s ELAR classes ended today with a rousing game of Musical Sentence Creation! Students walked around the room, and when the music stopped the first time, they sat down at a desk and wrote a subject on the paper. They got up when the music started again, and when the music stopped a second time, they sat down at a different desk and added a predicate to the subject already written to form a complete sentence. Students then went back to their seats, shared what was written on the paper at their desk, and determined if it was a complete sentence. These kids put together some pretty silly (but complete) sentences!

6th grade Social Studies students have been working on group projects looking at factors of geography and how they influence people this week!
Students participated in a colorful creations lab to practice measuring liquids with a graduated cylinder in 6th grade science classes today.
